HelenMari Merritt is an adult cardiothoracic surgeon in Omaha, NE. She was the first graduate from the UTHSCSA I6 training program in 2015. She has expertise in minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic surgery, is an afib enthusist and has previously served as ECMO Surgical Director. As a prior TS Program Director now in private practice, she remains engaged in resident and student education through mentorship. She serves in several leadership roles within the STS and WTS. Dr Merritt is married with three children, and this keeps her busy and fullfilled outside of the OR.
