Experienced academic clinician with expertise in all aspects of adult cardiac disease with particular interest in the management of advanced heart failure including high-risk conventional surgery, mechanical support and cardiac transplantation. Site Principal Investigator (PI) for over 15 clinical trials in LVAD therapies. National PI for the MOMENTUM3 clinical trial, the largest RCT LVAD trial ever conducted and for the NIH-CTSN VEST trial. Board Member of ISHLT 2016-18 and Chair of IMACS, the largest durable LVAD Registry in the world (2018- present). Authored over 180 articles and 3 books.
Educator and Surgical Proctor for Abbott Inc. Site PI for the NIH Cardiothoracic Surgery Network (CTSN). Book author, clinical investigator, consultant to several device companies and speaker.
