Moritz C. Wyler von Ballmoos, MD, PhD, MPH is a Professor of Surgery and the System Chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Texas Health Resources and the Burnett School of Medicine at TCU. He specializes in surgical valve repair, complex valve surgery, minimally-invasive cardiac surgery techniques & transcatheter therapies. He is an international contributor and thought leader in the management of valvular heart disease, mitral valve repair, atrial fibrillation, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, transcatheter therapies, and quality improvement. Dr. Wyler von Ballmoos has been an investigator and contributor to numerous clinical trials for structural heart disease. He serves as the Vice Chair of the STS Workforce on Evidence Based Surgery, and in multiple other leadership positions for the STS Council on Quality, Research, and Patient Safety that oversees the STS National Database and its quality efforts. He is also a member of the ACC Cardiac Surgery Team Council leadership. Dr. Wyler von Ballmoos is the founder of the Cor Amicus Foundation, working to make cardiovascular care more equitable globally.
